You're out in public -- say, in a mall -- and you hear a group of people, their backs toward you, talking about something.
What would they have to be talking about in order for you to walk over, introduce yourself, and say, "I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing ..."?
Supposedly, this can give us an indication of what our great passion is.
This month, the UU Salon gets personal. We want to know what your great passion is. What fires you up, gets your motor running, makes you want to leap into the fray?
The Salon is OPEN.

After taking a continuing ed / community class on "Alternative Spirituality in America" in which we explored a variety of spiritual paths, I have been thinking about the UU story and how it is presented.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to explore "UU Heritage" vs. "UU History".
Personally, I think "UU History" should start with 1961, giving due credit to the youth movement that preceded the formation of Unitarian Universalist.
I would like to see our UU101 classes start there and move forward. Afterwards, explore our "UU Heritage" i.e. the Transcendentalist and going backward thru all the heretics, prophetic personalities, etc.
Better late than never? OK, maybe not this late.
